Latin Name: Prunus dulcis

Family: Rosaceae

Growth & Habitat: Indigenous to the Middle East but are also cultivated throughout Europe, Africa and North America. A small tree that grows to 3 – 7 metres with white or pink blossoms. The fruit  has a light-green furry skin.

Extraction Method: Cold-pressed from the nuts.

Scent: Light marzipan aroma

Components: 65% oleic acid (omega 9), 27% linoleic acid (omega 6), 6% palmitic acid and vitamins A, B1, B2, B6 and E.

Skin Care Properties and uses:

  • moisturizing and nourishing
  • soothes inflammation
  • relieves itching due to eczema, psoriasis, dermatitis and other related skin conditions
  • soothes sunburn
  • provides relief for diaper rash
